“We want to educate the participants about coffee business. It has been a huge trend this year. Through this coffee workshop, we want more people appreciate a cup of coffee with its long production process,” said Iin.

After getting the coffee basic knowledge, all participants listened to latte art presentation by Opal Coffee Barista Fitra. On his presentation, Fitra explained the role of barista, the process of coffee making, and how to make simple latte arts through some videos.

“The first step of making a latte art is producing a good cup of espresso base. The second is steaming milk until it has right consistency according to the latte art we want to make. For 2D latte art we aim to make smooth and creamy steamed milk while for 3D latte art, we need to make solid foam as it needs to hold its form,” said Fitra.

After the presentations, the trainees had their chances to make their own latte art. Opal Coffee also made “Throw Down Latte Art” competition for all the trainees.
