Bringing Local Coffee and Bakery Professionals to World Events

 

Louis Lesaffre Cup and Specialty Coffee Associations participated with SIAL INTERFOOD 2015 has successfully organized world-class events. 

Specialty Coffee Association of Indonesia has successfully organized Grand Final of Indonesia Brewers, Barista, Latte Art, and Cup Taster Championship. This event was held at SIAL Interfood 2015 on 11-14 November 2015. 

The champions will be participating in World Latte Art, World Coffee in Good Spirit, World Cup Tasters, and World Coffee Roasting Championship at HOTELEX Shanghai from March 29th to April 1st 2016.

On 14 November 2015, the winners have been announced. They are Hagi from Anomali Coffee for Indonesia Cup Taster Championship, Yoshua Tanu from Common Grounds Coffee for Indonesia Barista Championship, Ovie Kurniawan from Common Grounds Coffee for Indonesia Latte Art Championship, and Ryan Wibawa from Starbucks for Indonesia Brewers Championship. They will represent Indonesia in HOTELEX Shanghai.

PT Saf Indonusa partnered with Sinar Cahaya Cemerlang and SIAL Interfood 2015 has also organized the Asia Pasific selection of Louis Lesaffre Cup. This is an international competition in the field of bakery where selection stages have been designed to put nine best national teams for Coupe Du Monde de la Boulangerie in Paris. The selection is divided in four regions which are Africa Mediterranean, America, Europe, and Asia Pasific.

Five teams from 5 countries are competing in Asia Pasific selection of Louis Lesaffre Cup. They are Australia, South Korea, China, Vietnam, and Indonesia. The teams were competing to be one of two chosen countries for Coupe Du Monde de la Boulangerie. 

Teams consist of three persons each had to make different baked goods for three categories which are Baguette and World Breads, Viennese Pastries and Gastronomic Bread Making, and Artistic Piece.

Head Judge Pierre Zimmerman from France along with Technical Jury Members Mario Fortin from Canada, and Johan Sorberg from Swedia judged all contestants from many aspects including their technique, difficulty, and results while William Wongso as Food Critic had to choose one of team as favourite team.

Australia with Brett Roy as an instructor was awarded as Favourite team while South Korea with Snag-Gyu Park as an instructor and China with Siu Hung Au Yang as an instructor made it to participating countries in Coup Du Monde de la Boulangerie.
